Effective Measures to Prevent Compressor Failures in Industrial Chillers
2024-12-22
Although various industrial chillers have a relatively long service life, in the actual usage process, if users don't carefully maintain and take care of the compressors of industrial chillers, malfunctions of different degrees will also occur, which will seriously affect the performance of the entire industrial chiller. Effective measures to prevent malfunctions of industrial chiller compressors are as follows:
Routine Inspection
During the operation of industrial chillers, it is necessary to constantly pay attention to the issue of the running noise of the compressor. If there is a significant increase in the noise, according to the experience introduced by the factory cooler manufacturers, it is necessary to promptly and effectively shut down the equipment for inspection at this time. On the basis of ensuring normal operation, complete the maintenance work of the industrial cooler compressor. Note: Once the compressor makes noise, you should be on high alert. Often, even minor problems can lead to complex and serious malfunctions in the later stage, such as liquid slugging of the compressor.
Pay Attention to the Pressure Gauge
During the usage process, the specific values on the pressure gauge of the industrial chiller need to be noticed at any time. If there are abnormal situations within a relatively large range, careful inspections are required at this time. The specific inspection methods can be completed according to the relevant methods introduced by domestic industrial chiller manufacturers to avoid affecting the specific working efficiency of the industrial chiller compressor due to pressure problems, resulting in an increase in power consumption and an increase in the energy consumption of the industrial chiller. Note: The chiller pressure gauge includes high-pressure pressure gauges, low-pressure pressure gauges, etc.
Measure the Operating Temperature
During the operation of industrial chillers, it is necessary to use hands or equipment to measure the specific operating temperature of the industrial chiller compressor at any time. If the temperature is too high, it means that the industrial chiller is in an overloaded operating state. At this time, it is necessary to measure the current and voltage to achieve the purpose of fault detection, so as to ensure that the industrial chiller compressor is in an absolutely safe operating state, reach a suitable operating temperature, and complete the entire operation process. Note: If the compressor temperature is too high, it may also be caused by too little refrigerant, too low compressor power, too long capillary tubes, poor condensation effect, temperature control failure, or lack of oil in the compressor. The harm is very great, so special attention should be paid.
During the repair process of the chiller, the main task is to check whether the repaired parts have reached the required precision and whether the inspection and repair are carried out in accordance with the repair scale and scope.
For example, the technical quality of the connecting rod should meet the requirements in the following seven aspects:
- Cracks are not allowed on the connecting rod.
- The parallelism deviation of the centerlines of the holes on the big and small ends of the connecting rod complies with the regulations.

- Whether the ovality and taper of the holes on the big and small ends of the connecting rod exceed the precision of the specified grade.
- The connecting rod bolts and nuts are not allowed to be repaired.
- The threaded parts of the connecting rod passing through bolts and nuts must be smooth, without collision damage or damage to the enterprise. The edges of the nuts must not be damaged; the screw rod must be straight during operation, without cracks, residues, flaws, scratches, or collisions.
- The connecting rod screws should be easily inserted into the holes without getting stuck.
- The split pins of the connecting screws should be tightly inserted into the holes. It is prohibited to use one-day connecting pins or wires instead. Inserting split pins with large gaps is useless. The inspection during the assembly stage is also very important. Defects in the assembly process, regardless of their size, will affect the future use of the machine. Improper assembly of parts may cause local inoperability or leakage and premature wear of parts.

Therefore, the assembly work must be carried out carefully and in line with relevant regulations.
