Classification of the Properties of Refrigeration Systems

(1) Production cold storage: Mainly built in the vicinity of fresh goods production areas, areas with relatively concentrated sources of goods or fishery bases.

It is usually an important part of enterprises such as meat processing plants, aquatic product processing plants, poultry and egg processing plants, and dairy product processing plants. This kind of cold storage is equipped with corresponding slaughtering workshops, fish processing rooms, and sorting rooms, and has relatively large cooling and freezing processing capabilities and a certain refrigerated capacity. After cold processing here, food is transported to the sales area after short-term storage, directly exported, or transported to a distribution cold storage for long-term storage.

Therefore, it is required to be built in a place with convenient transportation and equipped with appropriate ice-making capabilities and ice storage to form a supporting production capacity in conjunction with the transportation of frozen products.
(2) Distribution cold storage: Mainly built in large and medium-sized cities to regulate market supply. It has a large refrigerated capacity but relatively small freezing capacity.
(3) Transit cold storage: Mainly refers to aquatic product cold storages built in fishery bases.

After large-scale cold processing, they are transferred to other places or supplied for export by refrigerated trucks and ships.
(4) Comprehensive cold storage: Refers to a cold storage that combines production and distribution functions.
(5) Retail cold storage: Generally built in industrial and mining enterprises or large-scale non-staple food stores and vegetable markets for retail storage.
